Chariot Studio

Bring the words, or just the idea.

Studio writes or reads your script, casts a voice for every speaker and scores it with music and sound. What comes back is a timeline you can change, one line at a time.

Watch it make

A looping demo of Chariot Studio: a brief is typed in, Studio writes or reads the script, records each line in its own voice and adds music, then the piece is played, edited and exported.

Studio, as it opens.

Examples

Start from a script, or from nothing at all.

Each of these is something Studio does that text to speech can't. Paste one in and it comes back performed.

01

A scene

MEERA: You said you would be home by eight. I waited, I called you three times and RAVI: I was in a meeting, I couldn't just MEERA: You could have sent one message. One. RAVI: I know.

Two characters. Each gets their own voice, and the interruption stays an interruption.

02

A story

हर रात दादी एक नई कहानी सुनाती थीं। उस रात उन्होंने कहा, "आज की कहानी एक ऐसे जंगल की है जहाँ पेड़ बोलते थे।"

Prose with speech in it. The narrator and whoever is talking are told apart and cast separately.

03

Just an idea

A 30-second Diwali ad for a lamp shop in Jaipur. Warm Hinglish, two voices, end with the address.

No script at all. Studio writes the piece from what you ask for, then casts and paces it.

04

A meditation

Settle into your seat. [pause 3s] Let the shoulders drop. [pause 4s] Breathe in for four.

[pause] is real silence, as long as you ask for, and a slow speaker is read slowly.

Studio's own box suggests these too. Try one in Studio ›

Music and sound

Music that knows where the words are.

Ask for it in the brief. Studio picks music, atmosphere and effects from a cleared library, starts each cue on the words it belongs with, and lowers it whenever someone speaks. Switch while it plays to hear what it adds.

Music chosen for this script, faded and lowered under the voices.

Darshan narrates

Studio chose the track, where it fades and how far it drops under each voice. Every one of those is a clip on the timeline you can move.

    One brief
Voices, music and sound come from the same request. There is no separate sound prompt.
    Silence counts
A factual piece gets clear narration, with nothing decorative it didn't ask for.
    All of it moves
Every cue is a clip. Move it, trim it, fade it, or delete it.

    Editing

Change one line. Only that line is made again.

Rewrite a sentence, give it another voice or ask for another take, and Studio records just that line. The sound under it follows the new take, and anything you placed by hand stays where you put it.

Another takeTap a take to hear it, tap it again to make it the one that plays.
Another voiceClick the speaker on any line to give it a different voice.
ArrangeMove, trim, split and fade clips across tracks on the timeline.
ExportThe mix as you hear it, as MP3 or 44.1 kHz WAV.

Rewrite a few words in one line.

    FAQ

    Questions

Something else? Write to [email protected].

    Is Studio free?

Yes, to start. Every account gets 10,000 free credits and no card is needed. On the free plan you can write, generate and listen back as far as your credits go. Exporting the finished mix needs a paid plan.

    Do I need a script?

No. Describe the piece, say a 30-second ad or a bedtime story, and Studio writes it, then casts and paces it. If you have a script, paste it and Studio reads it as written.

How does it know who is speaking?

Speaker labels such as MEERA: are enough, and so is dialogue inside prose. The narrator and each character are told apart and given their own voice. You can change any of them with a click.

    Can I direct the performance?

Yes. Write directions in square brackets and they are left out of the audio. [pause] adds real silence, as long as you ask for, like [pause 3s].

Where do the music and sound effects come from?

From a library of cleared recordings. Studio picks from it to suit your brief, starts and stops each cue on the words it belongs with, and lowers music under speech. A piece that is better without sound gets none.

If I change one line, is the whole piece made again?

No. Only the line you changed is recorded again, and the sound under it follows the new take. Anything you moved or trimmed yourself stays where you put it.

How long can a piece be?

One script can run to about twenty minutes of audio for now. For longer work, like an audiobook, split it into parts and make each its own project.

Can I use the audio commercially?

Yes, on any paid plan. Paid plans include commercial usage rights, so the audio can go into ads, videos, podcasts and apps.

    What can I export?

The mix as you hear it, as MP3 or as uncompressed 44.1 kHz WAV. Muted tracks are left out.

Give your script a cast and a score.

Start free with 10,000 credits, no credit card. Paste a script or describe the piece, and hear it back cast, paced and scored.
